Tom Broughton
Founder & CEO

Early in his career, Tom realized that his passion in business was to see his clients happy and successful. This passion led to a diverse career in banking & finance and ultimately to where he is today, as the founder and CEO of Scale or Sell Consulting. 

Tom was born & raised in Montgomery, Alabama and stayed close to home for school at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). After school, Tom realized that banking gave him a chance to help his clients achieve their business goals and put him in a position to do what he loves best. Because of this natural fit, Tom was a fast riser in the banking industry. After just four years in various roles for Regions Bank, First American Bank and RBC Centura, Tom was running the entire North Alabama private banking division for RBC Centura. He accomplished all of this while also earning his MBA from the University of Alabama (EMBA program on weekends).

After this early career success, Tom decided it was time for a new challenge and left RBC Centura to join three colleagues from First American Bank to start National Bank of Commerce’s office in Huntsville, AL where they grew banking assets from $0 to $120 million in just three years. This bank is still serving clients today with over $45 billion+ in assets (South State Bank).

In 2013, Tom took on a new challenge with Cadence Bank in Montgomery, AL where he served as Market Executive leading the development of the commercial, retail and mortgage banking divisions for Central & South AL. In his role with Cadence, Tom got to know a good number of entrepreneurs and business owners and was able to guide with advice and expertise to help them accomplish amazing results for their companies: revenue & margin growth and guiding them through mergers & acquisitions. After 15+ years of helping from the outside, Tom left banking and took his talents into industry … running the day to day operations for one of his banking clients who brought him in as an equity partner, as the President of his company. 

In just two and a half years Tom was able to help scale that business from 7 to 35 employees on three continents. The company tripled its revenue and Tom was instrumental in two successful acquisitions for the company. This helped land the company on the Inc 5000 list and have it well positioned for future growth (still successful to this day). 

After success with this venture, Tom decided to hang his own shingle and build his own firm focusing on professionalizing organizations, leading them through operational changes necessary for scaling and helping entrepreneurs sell their businesses at a favorable multiple. In the three years since starting the firm, they have facilitated 3 exits and continue to serve 8 retainer clients in an outsourced CFO/COO capacity.

Tom has spent time at all levels of the business lifecycle with success and knows what it takes to help companies thrive and move ideas forward. He understands capital structure and cash flow from his banking days and has sat in your seat having led a successful small business. This experience combined with a passion for helping people led him to start Scale or Sell Consulting. Through this company, Tom is able to leverage his immense skillset, experience and relationships to help business leaders achieve their desired outcomes and accomplish amazing things.

Outside of work, Tom & his wife, Jana, spend most of their time at their kids’ functions … sure many of you can relate. They are active members of Brentwood Baptist Church and enjoy hanging out with friends & watching college sports.

Grant White
President

Grant White joined SOS Consulting in March 2024. A North Alabama native, he earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accountancy degrees from the University of Alabama before moving to Nashville to begin his career with Ernst & Young. While at EY, Grant worked on a variety of tax compliance, consulting, and audit engagements for clients in the automotive, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing sectors. Most recently, Grant was with VMG Health, a healthcare strategy and transaction consulting firm. There, he advised on over 40 transactions, ranging in size from $1M to $1B. Grant worked with both buy-side and sell-side clients, predominantly PE-backed portfolio companies, strategic corporate acquirers, and not-for-profit health systems.

Over his career, Grant has served a diverse range of clients, from multinational publicly traded companies to founder-owned small businesses. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Tennessee, with extensive knowledge of accounting, finance, and M&A concepts. Grant is passionate about continual learning, simplifying complex issues, and providing excellent service to his clients.

Outside of work, Grant enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, cheering on the Crimson Tide, and is involved in his church. Above all else, Grant enjoys spending time with his wife and their daughter, who was born last summer. 

Lila McNair
Sr. Strategy Consultant - Team Lead

Lila McNair brings over 20 years of experience in public accounting, industry finance, and financial consulting. She has worked with top-tier firms, including Ernst & Young in the U.S. and internationally, as well as Warren Averett, where she led the outsourced accounting services team. Throughout her career, she has helped companies navigate complex financial landscapes, from M&A transactions at global consulting firms to in-house leadership roles within the technology, healthcare, real estate, and oil & gas sectors.

 Whether in public accounting, industry finance, or consulting, Lila has seen firsthand how intentional leadership drives company success. Recognizing that accounting is the language of business, she has developed a passion for elevating finance processes and operations, ensuring executives have the insights they need to make strategic, forward-looking decisions. Her expertise has consistently transformed finance teams into true strategic partners, driving performance and value across organizations.

Lila holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of Alabama and a Master’s of Accountancy from the University of South Carolina. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Alabama.

Beyond her professional career, Lila loves traveling and has enjoyed living and working in New Orleans, LA and Edinburgh, Scotland—two cities known for their rich history, vibrant culture, and sometimes questionable weather. She eventually returned to her home state, where she finds the weather most delightful. In Alabama, she and her husband are raising their son, enjoying the balance of family life and her passion for helping businesses thrive.

Andrew Comegna
Sr. Strategy Consultant - Team Lead

Andrew Comegna joined SOS Consulting in July 2024. He was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee and stayed in-state to earn his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in Finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Upon graduation, Andrew took a job with Crestmark Bank supporting the lender in their asset-based lending department. Most days were spent traveling the country analyzing client assets across a broad range of industries. This provided a nice foundation of understanding business models in various industry verticals.

With an opportunity to augment Andrew’s corporate finance and accounting skillset, he joined LBMC, a top national accounting and consulting firm, in the firm’s business valuation, litigation support, and M&A services group. There, he completed close to 100 valuation engagements of businesses and their interests from startup phases to $500M+ in revenue. His work was used to support financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate planning, and gift and estate tax compliance. Additionally, Andrew worked in sell-side advisory capacities ranging from full M&A processes to consulting engagements at the negotiating table. In this role, Andrew worked directly with executive management teams, private equity sponsors, attorneys, external consultants, and founders of closely held businesses.

Andrew embodies the values of SOS. His curiosity and thoughtful questions, along with his fail forward attitude, have afforded him the opportunity to be a quick riser in the organizations in which he has served. He is passionate about challenging himself to go above and beyond what is required of him and aims to create immense value for his clients (significance focused). Andrew is mission-oriented, serving on the board of directors of a local nonprofit organization and is actively involved in his church. Out of the office, Andrew enjoys playing golf, listening to live music, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. He especially cherishes the company of his wife, Mary Margaret, and their dog, Tiny.

Melisa K. Hajek, MBA
Manager

Melisa Hajek is a highly accomplished accounting professional with an M.B.A. in Accounting from Maryville University and a B.S. from the University of Indianapolis. She specializes in transforming financial operations from standard compliance into strategic assets that drive business value.

Melisa’s professional journey is marked by significant achievement as both an entrepreneur and a corporate leader. Most recently, she served as the founder of The Number Nook, an accounting services firm she built from the ground up to support the specialized needs of small business owners. Her success in establishing scalable systems and high-level controller oversight led to a strategic merger with Scale or Sell Consulting. In this capacity, she manages the strategic finance team, providing vital controller and bookkeeping services to help clients boost performance and maximize enterprise value.

With over 20 years of experience across the public accounting and private real estate sectors, Melisa excels at managing complex financial reporting, streamlining month-end closes, and implementing robust internal controls. She is recognized for her ability to build lasting, trust-based relationships with stakeholders.

A resident of Crown Point, Indiana, Melisa brings the same persistence to her personal life as she does to her professional career. An elite endurance athlete, she recently reached a significant milestone by completing the 2025 Boston Marathon, a goal she achieved through years of disciplined training and qualifying through multiple marathons. She applies this same level of endurance, focus, and goal-orientation to every financial project she oversees.

Eric Doh
Strategy Analyst

Eric Doh joined SOS Consulting in April 2025. Born in Houston, Texas, Eric and his family moved to Montgomery, Alabama at a young age where he was raised. Eric earned his Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Alabama, majoring in Finance and minoring in Real Estate. Following his graduation at Alabama, Eric moved to Nashville to continue his studies at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management to obtain his Master of Science in Finance degree.

Through his studies at Vanderbilt and Alabama, Eric has built a strong foundation of financial literacy and understanding of concepts such as financial reporting, financial statement analysis, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate valuation, and more.

Outside of work, Eric enjoys exploring the Nashville and Franklin areas, attending concerts, playing golf, and attending his church.

Megha Pal
Strategy Analyst

Megha Pal joined SOS Consulting in April 2025, bringing over 6.5 years of extensive experience in accounting and finance. Originally from central India, she holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Indore University and has completed the second level of Chartered Accountancy (CPA equivalent) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Megha began her career with a domestic company, where she gained a firm foundation in Indian accounting and finance. She further expanded her expertise by working with major outsourcing firms such as EXL Services and Genpact India, acquiring valuable experience in US and UK accounting frameworks. Her career spans several key industries, with a particular focus on healthcare and insurance clients.

Her professional expertise includes P&L analysis, budget vs. actual variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, management reporting, the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), addressing auditor queries, and payroll analysis.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Megha enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, and watching movies and series. Her commitment to continuous growth and strong client service makes her a valuable asset to the SOS Consulting team.

Leah Wade
Executive Assistant

Leah Wade has always been drawn to the behind-the-scenes work that helps big ideas actually come to life. With a background in managing and supporting teams in the creative world, she developed a natural ability to balance structure with flexibility, keeping moving parts aligned while working with people, personalities, and fast-changing priorities.

At Scale or Sell Consulting, Leah works closely with the Founder & CEO to keep the day-to-day running smoothly and the bigger picture moving forward. Whether it’s managing priorities, coordinating moving parts, or being a steady presence in the middle of a busy schedule, she brings a calm, people-first approach to her role. Leah believes the best work happens when teams feel supported, communication is clear, and the details are handled with care. Outside of work, she’s a proud LSU fan – Geaux Tigers.
